Great night in Saint Malo! Off to the ferry and back to the U.K. But first, breakfast, as the tandem was blocked in by motorbikes. Croissants and coffee at a Boulanger and then back to Maison Hector L’Ouest for even more coffee.
Got back to the hotel and the tandem was still blocked so Steve and Hotel Man lifted it over the bikes and we were able to pack up and go.
The ferry was only about a 1/2 mile away and we checked in, went through immigration and had a short wait on the dock. We clackity-clacked our way aboard taking just on carefully packed pannier with us, as we weren’t that keen on spending nine hours sat around the boat in cycling gear.
One of the highlights of the trip, the Brittany Ferry sit-down restaurant lunch, with cocktails to start. It was pretty windy / bouncy so they ‘just’ did the starter buffet, the cheese buffet and the dessert buffet. Completely stuffed afterward!
Steve had the brilliant idea of getting a cabin for a post-buffet nap! Managed to snooze the rest of the crossing away. Arrived in Portsmouth on time. Off the boat, back to the parking lot to pick up the car and made it to Jess’s in time for a lovely steak dinner!
