Rest, recovering and checking up. Home, watching the torrential rain today. Repacking for the Northern half of the trip has commenced and the shopping for restocking is done. An early Steak Night tonight and a ‘Please yourself’ day tomorrow. Will be interesting to see how the muscles and the weather report are tomorrow!

I love a good rainy day! Glad you aren’t out in it!
ReplyDeleteTandem cleaned up well, adjusted the tension on the front chain (that’s done by moving the front bottom bracket bearing which is on an eccentric cam for any one who is interested), clean and lub’d the chains and gears, pumped the tyres back up to normal pressure (pump on the bike doesn’t seem to enable me to get to 90 psi, need to look into that). Slightly overdid the red wine 😒. Had an hour on the 🎷 which is a bit big to take with us!! First time I have played that in a few weeks now but it was OKAY. Supposed to dry up this PM (Weds) so maybe get some grass cut or it will be a big job by the time we get back. I feel ready for “part two” and am looking forward to it. I think it will be different than the first half especially when we get north of Inverness. Navigation becomes easier, there is one road for its seems about 3 days or 150 miles. Weather looks better for the next few days so I think it will be “damp” rather than “standing in a cold shower” kind of experience. After that who knows but will be in the Scottish Highlands in Autumn so it’s not going to be balmy 😳. Need to put some cycling leggings in the bag, I swapped shorts for lightweight jeans and sandals for shoes and socks. Bring it on …..
