This is an out and back tour. You’d think it would be a repeat of the trip out, but in the main it’s not. You see things from different angles or things you missed ‘and’ you repeat the things you liked. We didn’t see this on the way out…
King of the Mountains retains his title!
Passed by more chateaus along the way.
I was told not to talk about the big hill we had to climb so I stopped. Later on, Steve said to me, ‘I think we should have some food before the big hill’. I said, ‘We’re on top of it!’
Lunch in Gournay-en-Bray, after the big hill!
We have a bath, one of the best parts of the trip!

Another great day. The lit up church was the view from the house we stayed in. Very pretty. Ride was done by about 1.30. Hôtel earliest check in 3.00 pm. Better do the “Plat du Jour” experience then, with big beers and carafes of wine. Another tough day on “Le Tour”. Last day tomorrow(today as I write this), close to 50 miles to Dieppe a lot of which is on a Voie Vert (disused railway line). Someone is on a mission for a “Plat du Mer” (big pile of shellfish accompanied by a bottle of decent white wine). Watch this space!!
ReplyDelete50 miler on the last day? And on that "trail" again...I dont envy that day, but I'm sure you'll find something in town at the end to smooth the rough edges. 😉
ReplyDeleteWe are back in Dieppe. Arrived 2.30 and stopped for lunch, we were flying today. Showers then le bierre!! 😎😎
DeleteIt was definitely a climb first thing, but once we hit the trail it was 1-2% descent for 30 miles. Still had to pedal, but fast!
